Senator Ted Cruz came to the defense of a grassroots activist on Twitter Sunday after news broke that Chuck Nellis, an influential Christian conservative voice with over 142,000 followers had his account suspended for no given reason.
Nellis, who I’ve personally followed on Twitter for years and have yet to see anywhere remotely near the kind of hate spewed from the average leftist with no retribution, announced that he’d been sent to the Twitter Gulag on Sunday using a new Twitter handle, @ChuckNellisJail:
Nellis’s being banned caught the attention of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who called the suspension absurd and said that if Twitter is “censoring speech to promote left-wing views, that’s a real problem.”
This is absurd. Twitter is not the speech police. If they insist on censoring speech to promote left-wing views, that's a real problem. https://t.co/zhjVgqk1j5

Nellis, a strong supporter of Ted Cruz during the 2016 Republican presidential primary, who was “Never Trump” but after the election, like many conservatives has taken a position of judging Trump on an issue by issue basis:
Many other followers of Chuck Nellis have joined in, requesting that Twitter reinstate his account, while others bashed the social media giant for hypocrisy:

Nellis says that he has appealed the deletion of his original Twitter account three times but Twitter management have ignored his plea:
Twitter, which is run by San Francisco progressive leftists, has earned the reputation of being biased against outspoken conservative Christians like Chuck Nellis who are making an impact against the Left’s anti-American ideology.
