Leading Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Democrat Senator [score]Dianne Feinstein[/score], told CNN’s Brianna Keilar that a separate investigation by the Senate Judiciary Committee should be opened against former Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch for colluding with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
On Thursday in testimony, while under oath, former FBI Director James Comey confessed that former head of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Loretta Lynch, Comey’s boss, ordered him to use Clinton campaign talking points about the criminal investigation she was under by the FBI.
On Sunday’s State of the Union, Sen. Feinstein admitted that — like Comey admitted — Lynch’s order made her “feel queasy” and that the Senate Judiciary Committee should investigate the politicization of the DOJ:
KEILAR: Comey said that Lynch — the request gave him a queasy feeling. He felt clearly that Loretta Lynch was giving cover to the Clinton campaign. Was she?
FEINSTEIN: I can’t answer that. I would have a queasy feeling, too, though, to be candid with you. I think we need to know more about that. And there’s only one way to know about it, and that’s to have the Judiciary Committee take a look at that.
KEILAR: So, you think it’s worth investigating, if in a way this was semantic cover given to the Clinton campaign. It was clearly an investigation being described in the matter.
FEINSTEIN: Yes, but this is a separate investigation we’re talking about.
Under questioning by Senator [score]James Lankford[/score], Comey on Thursday revealed that Lynch — his boss — ordered him to downplay what Comey called an open “criminal investigation” against Hillary Clinton by reducing it to the more innocent-sounding “matter” that was being looked into:
“The Clinton campaign at the time was using all kinds of euphemisms, ‘security review,’ ‘matters,’ things like that for what was going on. We were getting to a place where the attorney general and I were both going to testify and talk publicly about it. And I wanted to know, was she going to authorize us to confirm we had an investigation. And she said ‘yes,’ but ‘Don’t call it that. Call it a matter.’
And I say ‘Why would you do that?’ and she said ‘Just call it a matter.’”
Adding Comey’s admission about Lynch to her sleazy meeting with Bill Clinton on the tarmac at the Phoenix airport while Lynch was supposedly investigating Hillary’s Emailgate scandal, it appears as though Loretta Lynch had fundamentally transformed the Department of Justice into a Democrat Super PAC for Hillary Clinton.
