Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke wrote on Twitter Sunday morning that Left is politicizing the horrific Hurricane Harvey tropical storm in order to inflict political damage against President Donald Trump.
The tough-talking sheriff wrote that the “lib left is soiling their underwear in excitement over politicizing Tropical Storm Harvey to use against @realDonaldTrump. MAGA.”

One example that Sheriff Clarke may have had in mind was the ridiculous tweet by CNN host Michael Smerconish, who wrote that God downgraded Hurricane Harvey to a “Cat 2” in order to give the media space to talk about the “Friday news dump,” referring to the resignation of Sebastion Gorka from the White House as well as the presidential pardon of former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

The reaction to Michael Smerconish’s highly inappropriate and insensitive tweet to those suffering in Houston was swift and harsh:

While the CNN host’s tweet may have been an ill-conceived attempt at humor, the devastation in Texas has been no laughing matter:

The situation was so apocalyptical that a Houston news station KHOU had to evacuate LIVE, with the water rising in the TV studio reportedly rising one foot in only 15 minutes.
Reporter Blake Mathews called for God’s help:
