On Wednesday morning Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke was interviewed by Vicki McKenna on WISN and made a huge announcement. He has accepted a position in the Trump administration.
Clarke shared, “I will be leaving the position of sheriff to accept an appointment as assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). I’m both honored and humbled to be a appointed to this position by [DHS Sec. John Kelly] working for the Trump administration.”
Sheriff Clarke will begin his new position in June and will work in the agency of partnerships and programs which works in conjunction with state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies. He rightfully described his new position as a “huge undertaking” but he is up for the challenge.
“I’m almost overwhelmed just with the thought of it, but at the same time I never shy away from a challenge,” Clarke admitted.
