Jay Sekulow, head of the American Center for Law and Justice (ALCJ) and a member of President Donald Trump’s legal team, said on ABC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd that despite narratives to the contrary based on anonymous sources by the New York Times and Washington Post, the president is not under investigation.
“If he knows he did nothing wrong then he shouldn’t be afraid of this investigation,” Chuck Todd opined while claiming that Robert Mueller — a close friend of James Comey — isn’t a political person or biased in any way.
“Why doesn’t the president embrace this investigation if he’s innocent?” Todd asked.
“He’s not afraid of the investigation,” Sekulow replied. “There is no investigation. I want to be clear here…” he said before Todd cut him off by rudely interrupting.
“He’s not worried about this but there is not an investigation of the President of the United States,” Sekulow reiterated.
