Gary Bauer: The Left Has Become the ‘American Taliban’; They ‘Hate America’ [VIDEO]

Speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Christian conservative Gary Bauer, a former head of the Family Research Council and current President of American Values, said that the Left’s war on history, which he contends began with the attacks against Ten Commandments monuments and has progressed into attacking historical statues from Robert E. Lee to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, has resulted in the Left acting like the “American Taliban” and that they actually “hate America.”

“In the last couple of decades, we’ve seen left-wing groups file lawsuits all over America forcing Ten Commandments plaques and monuments to be taken down from courthouses and schools in state after state after state,” Bauer, a former policy adviser in the Reagan administration, told the crowd.

“My friends, the attack is not just on the football field,” Bauer declared. “We’re also seeing the Left now turn into an American Taliban declaring war on our monuments.”

“Because the people doing this aren’t just haters of the South,” Bauer asserted  “They’re not just haters of Judeo-Christian values. They hate America. That’s why they do these things.”
