Democrat House Minority Leader [score]Nancy Pelosi[/score] and other leading Democrats have been excoriated over their long refusal to condemn the violent, communist, anti-American hate group known as Antifa that should be designated as a domestic terrorism organization.
On Tuesday, Pelosi finally came clean, delivering a surprisingly strong statement condemning the violence, specifically calling out Antifa:
“Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts. The violent actions of people calling themselves antifa in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.
“In California, as across all of our great nation, we have deep reverence for the Constitutional right to peaceful dissent and free speech. Non-violence is fundamental to that right. Let us use this sad event to reaffirm that we must never fight hate with hate, and to remember the values of peace, openness and justice that represent the best of America.”
Good for her. It took long enough — too long — and we’ll see whether this written statement is repeated on camera where it will be impactful. It takes repeating something more than one time to make a difference.
Now it’s the Democrat Media Complex’s turn to condemn Antifa, instead of furthering the false narrative that they’re somehow “peaceful protesters.”
