Debbie Wasserman Schultz Throws Jeh Johnson Under the Bus: ‘He’s Wrong in Every Respect’
If the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was so concerned about supposed hacking into their computer server by the Russians, as is alleged, then why did they refuse to turn it over to the FBI during the Obama Regime, so that it could be properly investigated?
That is the $64 question Congressman Trey Gowdy asked former Obama Department of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson on Wednesday as he was testifying before the House Intelligence Committee about Russia’s much-ballyhooed attempt to influence the 2016 presidential election.
A perplexed, yet evasive Jeh Johnson refused to answer the question, simply telling Rep. Gowdy, “I’m not going to argue with you, sir,” as if to infer that there is no good answer.
This sly non-answer created a firestorm against Congresswoman [score]Debbie Wasserman Schultz[/score], who was the head of the DNC at the time and on Thursday she was grilled by CNN host Kate Bolduan.
Not pulling any punches, Wasserman Schultz who was forced to resign from her post at the DNC last year after emails revealed she rigged the Democrat nomination against Bernie Sanders and in favor of Hillary Clinton, said that Johnson was “wrong in every respect” and “utterly misinformed.”
“He’s wrong in every respect,” Bolduan. “Let me be very clear. At no point during my tenure at the DNC was I contacted by the FBI, DHS, or any government agency, or alerted or made aware that they believed that the Russians, an enemy state, was intruding on our network.”
Wasserman Schultz argued that the FBI called the DNC tech support all the way back in the “fall of 2015,” about the Russian hacking and that it was “unbeknownst” to her.
“Secretary Johnson says DNC rebuffed the help offered. You are saying no one contacted you,” Bolduan followed up.
“Secretary Johnson is utterly misinformed. That is simply not accurate,” Schultz defensively replied.
Wasserman Schultz then went through a timeline in which she claimed that the FBI and other federal agencies knew in advance of the Russian hack of the DNC for “almost a year” before the DNC discovered it and did “virtually nothing to sound the alarm bells,” meaning that the Obama Regime was involved in a massive cover-up.
To her credit, Kate Bolduan pressed the Florida congresswoman further, reminding her that Jeh Johnson is a Democrat who was serving under Obama, a Democrat as she is, suggesting that the Obama Regime would have no obvious motive to hurt the DNC.
Relatedly, on Wednesday, Congressman [score]Louie Gohmert[/score], appearing on Lou Dobbs Tonight on the Fox Business Network gave what in his years as a prosecutor and judge is the only logical answer to the DNC refusing to turn over the allegedly hacked server by the Russians to the FBI:
“I don’t know, but I think the better question is why would they not invite them [FBI] in and I’m really interested in their excuse but just from my own experience in all those years, usually the reason somebody didn’t want to invite law enforcement in to investigate is because they knew they would find that they had committed crimes if they came in and started investigating.”
“Who’s to blame, Johnson or President Obama?” Bolduan inquired.
“You know what, I’m not pointing any fingers at all,” Wasserman Schultz answered. “You know, there was certainly more that should have been done. There are more alarm bells and more action that should have been taken,” she argued.
Prior to “not pointing any fingers at all,” Wasserman Schultz called then-FBI Director James Comey and Jeh Johnson’s reaction to the supposed Russian hacking “astounding and outrageous.”
This can now be considered a major scandal. Someone is lying and Americans deserve to know the truth.
