Not shockingly, CNN’s Chris Cuomo, who masquerades as a journalist but performs on-air as a Democrat Party operative, provided cover for former Obama Department of Justice Loretta Lynch on Thursday during a heated exchange with Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus.
Loretta Lynch has come under fire after former FBI Director James Comey revealed under oath that Lynch, then his boss, ordered him to downplay the FBI’s criminal investigation against Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign. According to Comey, Lynch ordered him to say the FBI was simply looking into the “matter” of Hillary’s mishandling of classified information while Secretary of State, instead of calling it what it was — a criminal investigation (the FBI only does criminal investigations) — to soften Clinton’s scandal in the eyes of the public.
Rep. Jordan is calling for an investigation into Lynch and Comey’s collusion with Hillary Clinton’s campaign, writing in a recent op-ed that James Comey purposefully deceived the American people by following Lynch’s directive even though he knew it was highly improper:
Former FBI Director James Comey misled the American people during last year’s presidential campaign when he referred to the Clinton email scandal as a “matter,” not an investigation. He did it willfully. He did it intentionally. And he did it at the direction of Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
Mr. Comey misled the American people in the early weeks of the Trump administration by furthering the perception that President Trump was under investigation, when in fact he was not. He again did this willfully and intentionally.
Comey recently admitted that, after being fired from the FBI, he had a friend leak an internal FBI document to the New York Times detailing a conversation Comey had with President Trump. Comey testified under oath that he ordered the leak to help create public momentum for the appointment of a special counsel, which we now know is Comey’s mentor and predecessor, Robert Mueller.
The American people want justice to be blind. They want equal justice and equal protection for everyone. But Mr. Comey’s actions continue to call his impartiality, and the impartiality of the Holder and Lynch Justice departments, into question.
Chris Cuomo, famous for saying that if you don’t want a grown man exposing his penis to your 12-year-old daughter in a girl’s bathroom then somehow you’re the bigot, clowned himself in the Thursday “interview” by acting as Loretta Lynch’s defense attorney, criticizing Jordan for “assuming an intentionality” with Lynch’s demand that Comey downplay Hillary’s criminal investigation, as if there could possibly be any other motive than to provide cover for her presidential campaign by deceiving the public.
It’s such an absurd argument that Cuomo provided that it’s laughable, and that’s exactly what Jim Jordan did on Thursday, he laughed in Chris Cuomo’s face. It was well deserved.
“We need to have hearings — that’s why we’ve called for him — to look at what James did — unprecedented what he did,” Jordan asserted. “The idea that the Attorney General can tell the FBI director not to be square with the American people…” he said before Cuomo rudely interrupted.
“But you’re assuming an intentionality,” Cuomo butted in. “You’re assuming that she wanted to deceive the American people. That’s not known,” Cuomo argued.
“Oh, Chris, come on!” Jim Jordan said, laughing at Cuomo’s silly defense. “What other reason would there be?!”
The entire segment is over eight minutes long and is well worth watching. However, if you want to get directly to Chris Cuomo getting laughed at by a U.S. Congressman, start watching at about the 7:30 mark:
